Do you view them as a setback?📉Or an opportunity to improve?📈

Learning how to find the positive out of a so called “setback” can have a profound impact on your life.
•
Use adversity to your advantage.
•
As many of you know, before I broke my ankle I couldn’t walk on my hands. Instead of saying “woe is me” and not going to the gym, I used it as an opportunity to improve.
•
I thought to myself, “well if I can’t walk on my feet I might as well learn to walk on my hands” So that’s what I did. 🤸🏻‍♂️
•
You can do the same thing with whatever your obstacles are.
•
It’s not going to be easy, but it’s going to be worth it. 👍🏻
•
Now go attack your “obstacles”💪🏻.

This time of year can be tough... There's a reason we hear about the freshman fifteen, fall fifteen, and that people typically put on weight.

Unfortunately, these little phrases are all to well known and the fall is seen as a time where people naturally gain weight.
.
But it doesn't have to be.
.
See your body doesn't start packing on weight because October hit...
.
No, what hits is changes to our routine.
.
Changes to our priorities.
.
Changes to the food that we eat.
.
AND a failure to adjust for those changes and maintaining discipline with our health and fitness.
.
I fully embrace all seasons, and the activities... foods... drinks... and opportunities of each season.
.
But I have also learned the hard way that if you don't make adjustments to compensate for the changes and maintain a health lifestyle, you can get real off track... real fast!
.
Last year, I fell off track.
.
Growing up an overweight kid and working through a 50 pound weight loss journey... then in college fluctuating up and down 30 pounds... and then being on track for a few years... Last fall I fell off track.
.
I stopped following any sort of meal plan... so I lost track of how much I was ACTUALLY eating.
.
I convinced myself I was working out harder than I actually was...
.
I simply stopped holding myself accountable and sticking to a simple plan.
.
So to start the year off, I joined the 8-week TransPHORMation Challenge to get back into a good routine. Getting back to the basics of Training, nutrition, and supplementation.
.

This happened because I didn’t believe.

I paused.

The clock was counting down to zero and I knew I had to move fast... but I didn’t, I rushed, then in a last ditch effort...

Went for a rep with no self control or focus.
.
Luckily I’m part Gumby... and didn’t get hurt.
.
But what has stuck with me was the feeling of not committing, believing, not focusing to execute.
.
This time it only cost a muscle up... but the lesson transfers to all areas of life.
.
If you don’t focus, if you don’t commit, if you don’t believe... you’ll fail.
